Flowerhorn breeding help

So my little female laid eggs 2 weeks ago and last night i noticed she was fat n black so i new something was up and this morning more eggs last time she laid them i took male and put him on her side and vise versa but he ate them i beleave while o was at work but i seen on a forum that they can fert the eggs from a distance but is this to far away? Any suggestions on what i should do thx

I noticed the female has a few splits in her rear tail when i had them together got nervous and added divider but i can remove it see what happens
 
I imagine if they’re not together when she lays he will always view the eggs as food

Some people will cut a notch in the divider just big enough for a plate or saucer to fit. She lays eggs, you spin the plate so eggs are on his side, he fertilizers them(may have to do severaltimes during the egg laying process), spin back so female can care for eggs till hatching.
 
Sometimes people cut a hole in the divider big enough for the female to get through if she needs to escape but the male can’t chase her because he can’t fit through the hole
 
Do as Jaxnell said put a plate or flat rock on both side if your tank has some current and the male is ready it should be fine. BUT with that being said more then likely your male is infertile
