I have been around for a while, but never kept rays. The time has come to change that :naughty: . I'm looking into a 10ft tank as an upgrade. I found one all-inclusive off-the-shelf package deal, the only downside is that it's just 29'' deep (3ft tall).

Does 120''x29'' qualify for rays?

Thanks

29” width will suffice for most marbles, pearls, scobina, hystrix… Enough room in there for a trio no problem. I bred marbles in a 8’x24”. If you do choose marbles make sure there pure or from parents proven to be smaller adults. Most motoroXmarble females will still get huge 30”+ disc and over 3’ long. IME any motoro mix females will get the largest the quickest 28-30”+ in a few years. Black rays will also get that big but take longer.

Of course 10’x3’ and 10’x4’ are better for rays. Even then one of these large females im mentioning can and will out grow those footprints just the same. I rehomed a 28-30” mantilla mix i deemed to large for a 10’x3’. She was over 36” long.

10’x29” can house a few different species for life no problem. Just have to be picky with what u buy if its an “end game” tank. No hybrids so theres no surprise or worry down the road. 💀🤙

Thanks for your thoughtful input.
In my book that 10x3 qualifies as a /\/\onstertank. There aren't too many bigger tanks around. Where in the world does one rehome fish that outgrow such a tank??? The Amazon River?

Thanks again
