I was taking a walk in my local creek, until I noticed a nest on the ground with two cracked eggs and one egg that was not cracked. That not cracked egg was pretty warm in my hand when I picked it up, so I thought that there is a chance for it. When I was walking back with the egg I saw a cat with a dead robin in its mouth, So that gave me an idea why the nest fell.

I brought the egg home, put it on a towel under a heat lamp. Lately I've been rotating the egg every 30 minutes. My question is what should I do? put it back outside, raise it, or give it to the shelter??

Here are pictures of the egg.

I've read that their extremely difficult to raise in captivity.

google how to. proper temp is important.
and if it hatches, correct foods & technique.
wild bird rescue can raise them without being human imprinted so it can be released.

I see where your going with this, lol. Yes I do, I don't want to bring diseases to them though.

Wash the egg, and it will be safe to feed to one of them. The hatchling will most likely not last long even with expert attention, so you may as well make use of it before it gets that far.

Get it to a wildlife rehab facility, thats the best hope it has. I volunteer at the Portland Audubon wildlife care center and we have a ton of baby birds right now we are raising up, including a lot of very young robins.

:-) I take birds to local rescue almost every year, usually after high winds. they do a good job of saving baby birds, if you take them in before halfway killing them yourself, first ;-)

You guys may think I'm crazy but I found another egg. Except this one is white. This one was cold when I picked it up so that gives me an idea that it is dead.
