Four tropical gars, one florida gar, ~12"-15"

The seven Cubans started growing faster after we got 50lbs of Peru smelt (yellow tail, look like large glass minnows, ~5"-7", some anchovy species) and started feeding them more. The 4 biggest look like they are approaching 1.5ft. All but one (the smallest, no coincidence probably) still take pellets too:

One 1.5ft new rescue longnose gar from Matthew joins the 240 gal with the 7 cubans (and the stunted 1.5ft FL gar is transferred there as well from another 240 gal):

Five of seven Cuban gars have grown from 9" to 21"/52cm in 13 months, that is ~1"/month. Here we feed them Peru glass minnow / anchovy. I wonder if they are ready for 4500 gal. I always want to give each fish the biggest tank possible out of what we have but have been burned more times than I care to remember, where newcomers couldn't handle the new larger tank mates. Sometimes I could save them, other times I couldn't. Hard to gamble with the precious Cubans - they are very rare and expensive.

Our peer and neighbor @Polypterus_36 has adopted two of our cubans. The remaining 5 cuban gars 1.5 years old 21"/52cm go to 4500 gal:
