I agree,, python all the way.

The problem I see with your set-up is you can't see in the water bottle and, the bottle is too short. You're going to wind up sucking stuff up that you don't want to suck up, & you won't know it until it's too late.

Great ingenuity though,, keep it up.

this would be true, if i had enough suction, but the hob filter doesnt create enough underpressure to get anything big.

back to the vaccume,
i think i may buy a larger hose, and just attach that, because the jerry rig doesnt have much pressure. but it works as a regular vaccume, just not on the hob filter
