Freshwater dolphin fish

What is the minimum tank size for a freshwater dolphin fish and what are some good tankmates for it. Would a a fire eel work or maybe a black ghost knife? What else?

8ft long and 30inch wide tank will do if planning to keep long term. Would consider larger sleeper gobies, tin foil barbs, and clown knives.

Wouldn't recommend keeping any species of cichlid or synodontis because that's what they eat in the wild. I would do large knifefish since they have the same temperament and feeding habits.

Hi would not recommend keeping Knifefish with dolphin fish as both are electric fish and would not do well together.Please correct me if I am wrong

I know this is old but this is quite not true. i though these have mouth that suitable for scavening the substrate and they don't even have teeth !
