Red Drum are different than freshwater drum, freshwater drum are entirely fresh. Red Drum get far bigger than freshwater as well. Someone posted a red drum on my FB that had 436 spots or so I think just on one side of its body, probably the best looking red I have ever saw.

freshwater drum still get to 35lbs+.

is yours as skiddish as mine were? have you gotten it on anything other then crawlers or fillets?

Yea but record red drum is in the 90lb range, far greater that our freshwater version.

Mine isnt too bad, I go up to the tank and he doesnt freak out, its better when there are two together, they play with each other, chase each other, fun to watch.

I have a baby redfish in fresh he does great.

Love to see a redfish in a tank. Bass pro shops keeps Tarpon, Snook, Redfish, Black Drum, Large mouth bass, Florida Gar, and Channel Cats all in one big Arse tank. You can in reality keep all of these fish together in freshwater tanks, and IMO some of my favorite fishing spots in Florida are ones where you can catch a largemouth bass, and then catch a redfish a minute later. Kind of cool. I catch redfish and seatrout in water with a salinity around 0.06 PPM and they're over 10 miles down river from an inlet. In titusville Florida I have seen 3 inch tarpon and black drum netted in castnets, and mini flounders show up on the reg in nets.

i didnt mention it earlier but cool red tkoltz i wonder when they get their color i know that they have it at about 5 inches. and Dr.Cray i have never kept saltwater before so sorry for maybe dumb question but is 0.06 PPM like almost fresh or brackish water?
