Future of Fish importation coming from China, Central America

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It's fairly easy to figure out what will happen to prices. Importers, vendors, and retailers will absorb 0% of the tarriffs. So whatever tariff actually gets passed will be passed on to the consumer. So add that preventative say 25% on to the retail price.

What is unknown is how much it will impact actual sales. At what point are customers young to stop buying these fish, supplies, etc., and for how long. How long can the importers, vendors, and retailers last through a lull in sales before they decide to shut their doors.

As a Canadian I'm a bit bewildered by it all.

Oh, it will be a ****show for us also.

For many specialty cichlids, we already have to look stateside. I’ve been having a devil of a time finding a few more WC or F1 female Moba Frontosa, for example. And I imagine this holds especially true for any of the other specialities that come through the American markets.

More incentive to keep what fish we already have healthy, I suppose.
