Fx5 air bubbles problems? test this,

Sorry to bring this post back to the top. I am having the same problem. I stopped the filter. let it sit. Took the baskets out and rechecked everything. I pyt everything back together and did a restart. For the first few hours it was incredible. Not one tiny bubble. I thought maybe some how the gasket just didn't seal properly. i woke up the next mornign and it was doing the same thing again. I am running Chemi Pure elite in stage one polishing stage 2 and ceramic noodles in stage 3. I will try to swap out the hoses with smooth ones. To me is seems as if it might just be the impeller cavitating. ANyone else have an update on this. I really prefer not to modify this thing.
The only other thing I know to try is maybe use this for my suface aggitation and use my other nozzles for "under" current.

Like Jean-F i too am haveing problems with micro bubbles, when I shut off my co2 for a full day the filter runs normaly but when co2 is running I get the micro bubbles which start about 8pm and go on till the early hours of the morning.(co2 shuts off during the night)The filter switcces off at about 10am to purge any trapped gas so I know it is not just doing this Does anyone know is the trapped air being drawn down into the impellar which could potentialy damage it or is the air being pulled through the small pipe fitted into the lid and out through the output hose.

This FX5 "bubble problem" is fequently reported. I run two FX5s and have never experienced it. However, before runing the FX5s, I applied a thin layer of Dow Corning 111 silicone grease to all external o-rings (inlet, outlet and lid) also the internal o-ring for the outlet. I did this to minimize abrasion when disconnecting fittings to prolong o-ring life. I don't know what the cause of the bubbles is, but maybe this is will help.
