Gar Identification - Post your Gar to be ID'd HERE!!

Those look like shortnose gars to me.

yes, head shape fits and so do markings, but i've not had any experience with juvenile SNG.

Thanks, i'll try a pic from above.

@Madding, i remember your words in my previous identification:
A lot of juvenile gars sort of 'grow into' their snout, making its length less impressive as they grow. Even shortnose babies can look like they've got a long snout when so small.
...this is from here:

So...we have nothing yet!
Sold as Spotted, i think is a Florida, and you say to me is a Shortnose!
Damn!!I wish i come up with a Cuban gar!!!:grinno:

I'll try my best for some new pics.;)

the heads (particularly on one of them) show a slight level of deformity, which will skew morpho ID from that area, the snouts are unusually short for gars at that stage in general, which also indicates likely farming/close captive rearing conditions. at this point either FLG or SNG (would not be surprised at either), but all other species can be ruled out.
more pics (as Richard suggested) would help things along, beyond that, a couple weeks and we should know a lot more--

I got this guy from PetSolutions. He is supposed to be a Florida Longnose Gar. Lepisosteus osseus. Is he or is he Lepisosteus platyrhincus? That is what he looks like to me.
