Why? Are you sure? I hope it is shortnose, is it?

I'm 100% sure on that ID. Compare it to pictures of juvenile alligator gars, and you'll see what I mean. I can say that it most definitely is not a shortnose gar.

how big is it?
I think it's still a young fish so with the big eye, very broad snout it is a gator gar!

It's 35 cm.

It needs to be upgraded to a much larger aquarium once it gets closer to 50 cm if the aquarium is ~61 cm wide; if the aquarium is not that wide, then it will need upgraded sooner.

I picked up 2 gars yesterday and after reading through this thread I think they are Floridas. Because of my location I thought I would get the opinion of some people in the know. I am currently living in Abu Dhabi. Thanks in advance.

I bought a Gar Yesterday, the petstore said he got it from Singapore, as far as I know Gars doesn't exist there...
I'm afraid it is an alligator gar & will grow humongous... please tell me what type is it?
