ooo ya do not house them together the only time you put them together is to breed and even then you must only keep them together no more then a week
that was just the first one I found.Too many ppl feed just the baby food and it becomes a bad habbit. If you never add calcium or vits to it then it would be an awfull staple. So why add that stuff if it will eat the cgd unless your just using baby food now and then.Ive seen plenty of mbd cases in cresteds and didnt want him to get lazy and just feed the baby food without juicing it up.I dont know him so I wouldnt know if thats something he would do.I think they all feed baby food because its cheaper foremost but if you only had one to dedicate your time to then I would think you would not hold back but I know wha you mean by them eating fruit.Though I still think thats all in the cgd.I knoiw you have a group of them and will see babys but they arnt that hard to breed. Not sure how long youve had them but I kept and bread leos for a few years and I am by no means an expert on them.Beardeds too.As far as asking breeders,I do that too but some say beards are bad on sand and others only use sand so my point is I just think cresteds and gargs are still new to the herp industry and some breeders use nothing but the cgd, some ppl only crix dusted, some only baby food and crix and some only dusted baby food.So who really knows just because they get babies.Im just saying you know, something to think about.reptech420;2069421; said:baby food gives them varity in there diet they eat smashed fruit thay has fallen to the ground in the wild to thats why you givr them baby food cgd is great thats why i use it but its not enough i have a bunch of these guys and will have a bunch of babys next year i did alot of home work asked every breeder (6 different )that i got mines from and they all feed baby food and jayson you gave him a list from petco if petco sold baby food then it would be on the list lol
yup i get the picture, even though im not the one you're arguing with...loljason longboard;2069894; said:if you look around you will find lots of sites saying not to feed it,Im not trying to argue,Im just saying its like the substrrate debates, none of us can agree on one way but thats whats good about discussing this stuff.I know they eat fruit in the wild, but peach, apricot,I doubt it and how much. You could end up with a gecko with diabetes,jk,but really how do you measure how mush sugary food they really should have?We think we are giving a balanced diet but how many geckos feeding sceduals have we loged in the wild and how much eaten.Im ramblin but you get the picture.
Im gonna post a pic of him under a new thread when my camera chargesjason longboard;2070007; said:cool, like I say,Im not trying to argue, just trying to see the entire picture a little deeper.I would love to see pics of your guys geckos some time.Reptech Im sure you are having a great time with the breeding,I really miss it but dont haave time right now.

They all agree though that feeding them crested gecko diet/baby food a few times a week is fine. You have to consider where they come from. It's not really that tropical of a place so fruit will be a seasonal thing so that means it shouldn't be the main part of their diet.
