Garnet Abrasive Sand

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Might be a bit lite. Hard to say.

For some reason I thought the black sand I was using was 50/60. Its 20/40. So I guess its an "order and wait" game at this point.

They do have this...but the picture makes it look black even though they call it "garnet". Cheap and ships immediately with 36 grit...

Ended up going with the $95 55lb bucket of 36 grit. Thanks everyone. more than I wanted to spend, but at least I know that I have the right thing!

The cheaper 36 grit looked like this under white/blue LED
Dull red color but more natural looking. Almost like small gravel

Here is how the more expensive Barton 36cg looks like under different lightings

Yeah it's not bad looking. Just need the right lighting. I mixed the cheaper one with my more natural sand(mixed with gravel too)

thanks Hao!

that does look good and I’ll be considering it for the next tank I do. I’m trying to lighten up a black wolf a bit. Just want him to have some contrast

Im using a garnet from kleenblast 12 grith. I like them more that 30/60 or 20/40. Abit larger but dont look like gravel.
