I used to kept both species on their own tank BUT Did anyone mix Geophagus and African Cichlid together?
I meant I have a group of Geo, Angelfish together and they are doing well but I wonder if I put 1x Dragonblood African cichlid in the tank will mess them up due to the african cilhlid might over aggressive compare to other, below of a Dragonblood I wanted to add....yeah, I know hard to pass it :P (picture not mine but the one I'm trying to get look identical in color).

Nowadays, most Geophagus are captive breed from Florida Farm so they do not required extreme low/soft water like wild caught one so water parameter don't swing too much for both species.

How big are the Geo's? I can see it being an issue of aggression.
Thanks! I was thought same thing, cause the dragonblood most likely over aggressive and might push everyone into a corner.
Edit:
Geo and Angel are around 4 inches and the Dragon Blood also around 4 inches too. I think I'll have to pass it. :)

Or use a divider until you can get another tank.

That is not true. I visited a number of fish farms in Florida. They breed and raise only a few hard water Geophagus species in ponds such as brasliensis, balzani and Red Head Geophagus. For soft water Geophagus, discus, angel fish and rams, they breed and raise them in tanks using mixed RO or rain water.

There are a number of hard water Geo you can keep with Africans. But the soft water species won't do well in African fish water.

My brother kept his geos with African cichlids. And did he make a big mistake! All his geos are beat up, torn fins and looks like ****. After removing the dragon bloods to their own tank, he left a lone flametail peacock with them and now he terrorizes them. Geos are not aggressive species to be mixed with Africans. I wouldn't take a chance.

This is true for majority peaceful Geos, but a few aggressive Geos such as red head or Brazillensis can stand up to most Africans. I have a Geo Iporengensis, a small cousin of Brazillensis, that is picking fight with every tankmate.
