This was a photo when I first got the devil, was still in shock. Had to move him into a 125 for several weeks before returning him into the original tank. I don't have any recent pics because I am away from home.

I've seen several devils that size, maybe a little smaller, but definitely over a foot. BTW, that devil is 5 years old.

Your stock will be fine as long as your GG allows it....

480g, 10ft long, with a 180g sump and 22 fishes total with 8 of them under 6in. I think your tank will be fine :) I would be more concern with the aggression more than anything else. And yes, you can add a rtgg too if you want :) My tank is half yours in gallon and I think I have about 18 fishes total and the smallest one is 6inches and some of the bigger ones are: 18in rtgg, 16in red devil, 16in gg, 12in rtgg *yes, I have 3 gouramis living together, the little one gets chased around once in a while by the big one* I like to buy them small and play with them in my smaller tanks, then when they get big I put them into my big tank. Everyone seems to be doing well. 2 FX5's and 1 eheim 2217 for water polishing/UV purposes, ammonia, chemicals, etc. are all ok. I feed every other day. With your 180g sump and adequate return flow, I think your filtration will be a lot better than mine.

Post pics when done :)

:WHOA: im amazed you dont have mayhem in your tank with 3 GG's...You must have some pretty mellow Gourami's.....please post fulltank pic...

Hey everybody, im reviving this old thread because i finally found the perfect gg for sale, i purchased him/her yesterday and she is currently chilling in my tank making friends, she is very docile and has not even acknowledged my arowana so im hoping they will be compatible for the long run but it is still early days, some pics will follow :)

ps. When i was on holiday around 80% of my stock died do to a malfunction of my uplift pump system which was my fault, im very happy to have some new life in my aquarium, any ideas for a name for my new fishie ?
