Not too sure on the red on the fins. Mine didn't have any color and went black, Zen was the same. Not trying to upset anyone here just my first look that's all.

Are you treating the split dorsal? Looks like a complete split on the picture?
They were all pretty beat up. But hes doin really well has some attitude im adding salt for now.

Hes really darkened up now. Looks like he has a white face too very strange.

Done a bit of reading up on the subject. Basically all you really need to do is drop the tank level by 1/2, reduce water flow to a minimum and make sure there is plant matter available for the nest. Sit back and relax

Like I said, breeding them isn't really impossible if you just sit back and read a little.

He looks like a red tail to me. Add that to the fact fact that's it's not in the best condition and no doubt stressed time will tell. Good luck on the treatment hope it all goes well, that split dorsal looks pretty bad but these are hardy beasts. Who knows it maybe a exodon or redtail or maybe something else, let him settle in a bit then break out your dslr in a few days;)

Yeah neil says the bloke who got these in the wild was the first catcher and exporter of microrasbora galaxy he knows his fish and i believe that this is a EEGG.

Ive grown and kept a few RTGG from 1.5" and they look completly different.

They sure look like Redtails GG too me but what do I know, I only have 4. Dude it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong, but most Aquarium people (yes I know you work in one too) go by what the invoice says. Which can be something totally different than whats in the bag/tank!

FYI: More than likely there all beat up from fighting with each other, not from being shipped.

I couldn't agree more, If I could get a job IDing fish wrong then I'll be a rich man by now, they do look more red tail than anything else, like Bruce said he's had some before (3 I think) and he doesn't think that they are?

Septemfasciatus perhaps?

As I said I could be wrong but only time will tell for sure. Good Luck with them. Just try to keep apart as long as possible because when there not eating there fighting with each other, it's in there nature for survival.
