hey guys

i have 2 rtgg in a 5x3x2ft (LxWxH) with a paroon shark

im pretty confident that the 2 rtgg are male and female.

please feel free to comment.

the 1st photo is female, the 2nd male and them together. i also included a video clip for more clarity.

Enjoy!

Whats the size on the rtgg's? I do like the tank size and shape and the fact that it can hold a good size tree stump. But may I ask why the BB?

Sorry the video wasn't clear enough to see much, I would have like to see the Paroon more too.

the 2 rtggs are 8"+. i use barebottom due reduce maintaince. i hate cleanin substrate.

can you guys confirm that i have a male and female ?

i will try and post more pic/videos of the paroon shark

Does anyone see a problem with my rtgg eating cockroaches? He or she is about ten inches an refuses to eat pellets of any kind. It will eat random veggies, shrimp and scallops. I just figured that I have roaches to feed my reptiles, why not? The roaches are fed a varied diet of veggies, meat ,fish food and other supplements. I decided to try a couple the other day and the gourami goes nuts for them now. Just curious on others opinions.

No I see nothing wrong with it, I feed mine all sorts of bugs and worms. I sometimes bother a friend for some of his hissing roaches, that he feeds his lizards and spiders. Plus I dought that Yanbbrox could complain he feeds his EEGG breakfast saugages and cheese wiz. Insects are loaded with protein. Protein will help your fish too grow much faster.

I would need to see clearer quality head shots of both fish to make a good guess. It would be better if they where closer to 10", but I'll give you my best guess.

my female has less color in the body and the bottom lip is quite small, whereas the male has more color in the body and bottom lip is quite fat. this cant be seen in the fotos, especially the body color.

ill try get some more head shot

I don't use body coloration too sex RTGG, for I have a female that rivals the males in coloration, fin shape etc and is female - strict female not a cross dresser or anything -. But your discription of the lips is the main tell tail sign. Though my males don't show there - egg spot - or side spot as often as do the females.
