Hi all, long time since I've posted but I wanted to share some pics of the first (to my knowledge) import of this species into the US in many years. This is the smallest lungfish, supposedly maxing out around 18", and as the name suggests they keep their external gills for life. So far they've been super active - more so than aethiopicus, annectens, or dolloi would be, and are in really nice shape.

I do have a limited number available for sale, PM me if interested. Enjoy the pics :)DSC_0325(sm).jpg DSC_0334(sm).jpg DSC_0341(sm).jpg

Duuuuuuuude! I need to walk down there and get me some, only half a continent away.

Just out of curiosity are there importers in Kenya that deal with these?

Yeah I believe their range extends down as far south as Southern Tanzania and possibly Mozambique so not too long a journey for you ;)

I actually went to Kenya personally and got the ball rolling on this, a friend and trusted marine fish exporter shipped them for me. No one regularly deals with freshwater there - at least not yet.

An importer here says all his friends there only do SW, maybe I should tell him about this.

With the reputation of lungs I wouldn't want to try one with my current African stock, I wonder what their attitude is like :)
