@ pharoah and 12volt man....what do ou guys think..???

I'd say your looking at about 1" with a safety factor of about 2.2. 19mm would only give you a safety factor of 1.3. Keep in mind the industry standard is 3.8 of safety factor.

Hi there, I got myself an extreme aquarium. Homebuilt by LFS-owner, Length: 160cm/63inch Depth: 50cm/20inch and Heigth..........120cm/47inch
Glass thickness on front/back panels: 20mm.........side panels: 10mm

WILL THIS WORK???

Guys,
Can I please have your thought on the attached design.
Tank is approx 2.5mts wide * 2.2mts deep * 3.1mts high.
Engineer has suggested toughened laminated glass.
What glass thickness do you guys recommend?
Thanks.

Hello, and thanks for posting this info. I noted that information provided is for making a an aquarium (all five sides and braces). I would like to know what thickness of glass to use if it is going inside a plywood aquarium. Display panel is 5ft x 2ft high which includes a 2 1/2 border that would support the glass? Thanks in advance.

Hello friend. I'm interested in building a nice size tank but the dimensions are not covered here. My dimensions are as follows... 60 x 48 x 48. Is this too dangerous to have and how thick should my glass be. Also I'd like to have Starphire Glass if at all possible. Could you tell me where I could find it as well? Do I need to lower the height? I also want to let you know that it's going to be a plywood tank. I'm currently building this on Google SketchUp Pro. I don't have a problem with lowering the height but I'd prefer not to if I can. Thank you for your time and consideration.
