Just about every species of fish I've ever kept will at the very least, sample poop. Some eat it and some don't. It's one if the reasons it's so important to fo Wc and vacuum the gravel because bacterial infections can be spread very easily this way. Infected fish poops, every one else tries it and soon you have more and more infected fish. Lost a whole school of tiger barbs a few years back to what I suspect was tb, all spread through poop.
Quite correct. Goldfish do not have a stomach to help digest the foods. They rely entirely on their bacterial flora and enzymes to help break down the foods but not all foods will be broken down completely. This is a very good reason why you should NOT feed your goldfish large meals. They are better off fed multiple small meals in a day than a few large ones.mqktandy;4753622; said:
