Koi's have them too. I find bunches of them in the pump basket. Looks like puka shells.
 
BTW only goldfish? As I have a blue rams alone in a tank with black gravel and sometimes see small little balls that are too heavy to be vacuumed. They are about a the size of this star. *
 
Not only goldfish. Even cichlids have teeth. It's just that the cypriniformes in general have their teeth located near their throats.
