Good Stingray Tank Size?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The issue i have with reef ready tanks is that the overflow boxes to the bottom, take away from floor space whish is the most importatnt thing for rays, I am having a 420 71/2x36x30 and I am having it top drilled specifically for this reason.

I agree with this. Either get it top drilled or look into external overflows...they will both be good options.

Well, I put an order request in online for 48x48x31 (310G) and they called me already... So I placed the order! I hope it's an ideal size. It is going to sit in the middle of the room creating aisles all the way around with multiple other size tanks along the walls.

while some GET to 30"+ disc it takes awhile in perfect, usually wild conditions and i'd like to see those 30"+ rays people have! you'll be fine with that size tank with any ray you choose although there will always be people telling you NO tank is ever big enough

Good to hear! Thanks. It will be delivered 2 weeks from today! Time to start on the stand & figuring out filtration... By the way- Anyone on here that could give advice to me would be greatly appreciated. I got a standard tank b/c I want the space on the bottom of the tank. But is there some sort of custom request I should make to the manufacturer that would make my tank much better for me to set up filtration and easiest to maintain?

Wow u get to into things. For one to two rays a 6 ft x3ft tank would be fine. But the best all around tank is a 8ft x 4 ft x 24 to 25 in tall. And rays on need 18 in of water to live in.
