You ever tried feeding him with the lights off I mean with mins there could literally be a piece of food in front of mine and it won’t even budge, turn off the light and he’ll eat a shrimp through the glass. I guarantee you if your water is in good condition turn off the light and he’ll eat I bet a dollar on that

I've found goonch to be picky at times. Mine have typically gone through phases of feast and famine with no apparent cause. I suspect that they replace their teeth like African tigers, but I can't prove it.

That being said, feed it at night. Moon lights are your freinds. With the lights on mine almost never ate, under the moon lights they're as greedy and fat as any other catfish.

Wow I never thought of that..good idea..tonight when I get off work I'm gonna try that..thank you
Glad to help, just remember these fishes are nocturnal, if you watched River Monsters, Chasing Monsters, and Monster fish, what you notice in common they never had a bite when the sun was out

My goonch sometimes doesn’t eat for a week or so I think it has something to do with the growth mine would eat rapidly for a few weeks take a week off then eat again, like Troy mentioned oxygenate your water, add a power head if you don’t have one already they come from high flowing water from the Kali river. I feed mine massivore stuffed shrimp and tiliapia here n there
