I see this Severum is housed with Mbuna. Do they nip at him? Probably best to keep this guy/girl in a CA/SA tank, or remove the Mbuna. I've seen some other pictures of your set up. Although you've got some really nice fish, the mix isn't appropriate in regards to aggression, compatibility, etc. That Salvini of yours will eventually start shredding it's tankmates. Just a thought to consider.

I've never heard of deacons either. Where does that term come from?
It's a good looking fish though.

Looks a lot like my female heros sp. inirida. I have two males and one female. Males have spots. I initially thought they were the heros notatus but I did some researching to find out what I really had. I find out the notatus have black markings or spotting whereas the inirida have burgundy coloration as with yours and what I have. IMG_5413.JPG IMG_5408.JPG
