My neighbor lets his igg out in the backyard during the summer...he has one of those dog runners that goes between trees, and then it attachs to some sort of harness/leash..........lazy thing just goes and chomps on dandelions...

haha that's adorable, that would be soo funny to glance over in neighbors yard and see huge iggy on a dog runner lol

Oh I know all about it. I know a bearded dragon isn't on the same level as an igg, but I've been thinking and reading about it for awhile. Just have to decide what type igg I want. I have the space and time too. Live in a house, and work 5 mins from my house.

But dont plan on doing anything similar to any ig you would ever own, most igs would feal restrained and go on "death roll", five minutes later you have a chocked ig.

google Melissa Kaplan green iguana diet. She will tell you everything you need to know about iguana diets. I followed it and my iguana was huge and healthy. It can be a lot of work though and some of the vegies may be hard to find and not the cheapest in the world...but if you put the work in you will see the results. The produce department at Stop and Shop usually had what i needed. Read her diet, but if you want to make it a little easier think of it in two parts. One is the dark leefy greans and the other is a mixture of various vegies and fruit. You will mix these two together and feed it all at once to the iguana. To cut down on the work make one large batch of the mixed vegies/fruit in a blender on low. Store it in the frige where it should last 5 days or so. Now you just mix your stored food with the leafy greens everyday. this will be easier than mixed and chopping fruits and vegies everyday to go along with the dark leefy greens.
Also, everyone is right about the pellet food....it is crap. goodluck.

i agree. in fact i am really shocked that the igg tolerated any sort of a leash on him. i fell for that gimick when i have my first baby igg. what a waste of money.

and the fact that he would leave his igg out there on a dog runner isnt a good thing either. i wouldnt trust it to stay on. even big iggs will wiggle out of anything lol

leashes are for dogs. dog runners are for dogs.

yeah i mean i wouldn't leave one unattended outside on one, but i know these people that have two iggs and during the summer they had harnesses for them and would walk them around outside, they didn't seem to mind it one bit (of course they were going where they wanted and not where you wanted like a dog would lol)
