I feed mine Collard greens, carrots, kale, fruits, zucchini, squash
Just never give them Iceberg lettuce, or spinach!
You could use a litle more variety, plenty of diferent things to try! Oh and NEVER feed avocado to a iguana (or bird and reptile)

yea it's pretty hard to get fresh stuff in a variety here in WI in winter... i love the farmers markets in summer tho.. .awesome! once i buy my own house i'm growing all my own stuff for my iggys, i'm gonna have a green house all year round lol

My Greens and Cyclura were on a 100% Mazuri Tortoise food diet.......Alot of other Iguana keepers do the same........It eliminates the guesswork involved in a supermarket diet........

thanks coura for the tips
You can feed an ig hibiscus, both flowers and leaves, Just make sure that you wash them off with fresh water before feeding

This is my 5 year old... Bermuda

EricIvins,
what's a 100%mazuri diet? i'm assuming it's precanned or something?

pearlposeidon93,
Bermuda is gorgeous! loving that bright orange... assuming it's a male from the orange in breeding season i'm guessing too... i just saw my 6 year old today. getting close to 5 feet already... was a lil over 4 ft when i sold him to my friend. it was a sad sale... :( had to happen tho, he was a very dominant male w/ a attitude problem and i've got a lil one in the house.
but it's ok.. i've got a couple new iggys to spoil now and no attitude problems from them... yey! lol

Thanks, I am not sure if it is a male or Female
Thinking that "Bum" is a male everyday though

Why is spinach a poor green to use? Because the calcium absorbtion rate is low or the high iron or something? Just wondering...

On the fruit side... what about avocado?

im not all that sure but with spinach i think its that it binds the calcium so that they cant use it, and dont know about reptiles but avocado is very bad for birds because it have some kind of compound in it that they cant digest and so it builds up in their bodies to toxic levels (kind of like chocolate), though im sure some one more knowledgeable can give the more scientifically accurate description of what they actually do within the body's systems

I read in many iguana care books and was told by a vet to not feed them spinach since it can cause kidney disorders
