Name: Green terror, Andinoacara Rivulatus
Endemic to: Tropical River Basins of Peru and Ecuador
Size: 10-12 inches (25.5-30.5 cm)
Tank Size: 40 gallon minimum (151.5 Liters), but 75 gallons or more is better (284)
Parameters: 68-77 degrees Fahrenheit (20-25.6 Celsius)
Diet: Carnivore, diet should include high quality pellets, frozen and fresh food like shrimp, krill, squid, tilapia, and scallops, and live feeders are optional (I would only recommend using safe, disease free, gut loaded feeders like live bearers you raised on your own, worms, crickets, crayfish, shrimp, or dubia roaches that you KNOW FOR A FACT are disease and pesticide free)
Tankmates: Any other somewhat large South Or Central American Fish like the Oscar, Flowerhorn, Red Devil, Arowana, Jack Dempsey, Convict Cichlid, etc.
Tank Setup: The Green Terrors tank should be a 40+ gallon (151.5 liters+) tank with a good filter and small decorations (like driftwood and rocks) and plenty of swimming space for the fish.
Breeding: If a male and female are both mature and willing to breed, the female will lay it's eggs (usually 200-300, but they can lay up to 1000) on a surface (usually at night or in the morning) and the male will fertilize the eggs which will turn a semi-transparent yellow color. The female will fan the eggs while the male will guard the territory around the eggs (unless they decided to eat the eggs). The eggs will usually hatch within 3-4 days and the fry will be free swimming within 11 days. The fry should be fed small microorganisms like baby brine shrimp, daphnia, infusoria, vinegar eels, amphipods, and microworms.
