Guess what’s going to be in the box.

So, I might have a problem. I was originally told 6 were brought in this time, I originally was buying 3, I bumped it up to 5 two days before shipping, and when I saw how big and beautiful the new ones are I had to have the 6th. I sent them an email asking about the last one, turns out there weren’t 6, there were 8..... So..... Looks like I’m going to be getting another package soon..... I regret nothing.

The only thing is when I was planning for 8 I was under the impression a 75 would be suitable for them as a species tank. Now that it’s going to be 11 I’m going to upgrade the planned 75 to a 125. Shame since I already have a 75 I need to reseal but I’m more than glad to dedicate my first 6’ tank to my dream species. Black Friday at pet smart here I come!

Time to make a journal on them. I’ll be linking to it.

I could get the same fish from my lfs and online and I’ll be more excited for the one that’s coming online. There’s just something thrilling about opening a box and not knowing anything about the fish. What size is it? Any damage to it? Is it even alive? Is it exactly what I expected? So many questions to find answers to. When I get one in person I already know thus it’s boring compared to getting one online.

I have the package of 3 arriving tomorrow which I’m excited about but..... I found more for sale.... a smaller size too.... more genetic diversity... cheaper per fish... cheaper shipping...

Can anyone please attempt to talk me out of it? I’ve went from 3 to 11 in a very short period of time and if no one talks me out of it it will likely go up.

All of these Wallace’s shoehead catfish have destroyed my wallet however payday is in a few days.....
I asked a few questions and I’ve been informed that the person believes there’s 7 at their facility. Also they’re eating pellets, brine shrimp, and black worms. Everything they throw at them. 4”-4.5” as well. Nice and small. Also the fins on them are immaculate. They’ve been treated externally and internally for parasites as well. They’re making it hard to say no.

If anything these should be good teacher fish for the older ones to learn how to eat prepared foods if what the person says is true.
