Gulper catfish meal capabilities

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think both have been known, not for the pleco but in general. Some gulpers got killed by swallowing a too big, too spiny, too rigid a prey, while others lucked out. I personally wouldn't gamble.

My Gulper went on a fast it's been about a month! Cruising his tank but won't eat strips of fish. Gonna try frozen silversides this week.
Water is 80 degrees warm and always in good condition.
I'm wondering if my Rio 1400 in a 80 gallon tank is to much flow for him.

How do you make sure it gets a complete nutrition package? I lost two gulpers to possibly poor nutrition of just frozen unfortified whole fish. One survived but I am not happy about its condition although it has been 1-1.5 years since I changed his diet for the better.

I come across these beasts on YouTube a few weeks ago and man I was amazed at some of the videos I watch

these would eat absolutely anything busy the looks of it, any thing any size and time it’s ready

I saw a video of one take down a koi its size. Insane, but probably not something I see my self keeping in the near future.

No way , I wouldn’t keep these beasts I care way too much about my cichlids

from what I see these monsters take no prisoners and when they want to eat they eat whatever stands in there way
