Hampala

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You may want to pm johno27. He has a good size hampala with rays and pbass I believe.

If so:
1. Tank size? 300 (72x36x27) I would recommend at least a 24" wide tank. At 15" they need a lot of room to swim
2. Temperature? 82
3. Food? Massivore, nightcrawlers, smelt, shrimp
4. Tankmates? P-bass, red hook silver dollars, Leo/Hen ray
5. Group size? just one

My guy grew pretty fast when I put him on a 24/7 drip but rather slowly with less frequent changes. He slowed down around 15".
He can get a little pushy with anything flashy or white (mag float algae scrubber lol) but has never messed with any rays or p-bass
6. Pics?
This is him 4-08-2011 at about 3" when I got him

This is him fairly recently

That would be nice John. Yeah you and KNH are my only hope.. :)
Wonder why these awesome fish aren't that popular.

Sorry it took so long I have been slacking on cleaning my glass but here are some pictures from today as promised

In one of the pictures you can see some missing scales which he seems to shed and grow in pretty often

Very nice John, that's a pretty beastly fish :)
Does it stay in midwater? Or does it use the bottom/top frequently?
