Thanks roy, strange - my pim doesn't look like any of them. It's dark, has 2 white stripes, has big eyes and a big mouth. It also has more of a rounded head compared to the more sloped head of a pictus and your catfish.

definitely not ornatus, it has big eyes like an ornatus, but without the sloped head and body shape. I'll try and get a pic and see if you can ID it.
dodgefreak - mine's face does kinda look like that one, maybe I do have a blochii afterall, just a juvenile one. It's only 3 or 4 inches, slender, and has CLEAR white stripes rather than the white mottled look of yours and roy's.
in addition to the clear stripes, it has a black spot behind the gills. Any other ideas to what it could be?

how many sets of barbels? does it have nasal barbels? Because its begining to sound like one of the asian bagrids.Like this or one of the similar ones.

It's definitely one of those. After looking at some more pics it seems it's either mysticetus or tengara.
I'm annoyed
I ordered a blochii. I wanted a nice active catfish that was big enough to stay in my big tank. This only gets 5 inches.
It looks very much like the fish you posted above, which species are they?
