Hawaiian Dragon Eel

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Saw one a while ago at a little place in town here, it said sale $1300 down from 1800, was damn cool looking, but I coulndt justify the cost!

on my list to have one day best of all the morays

Dragons are my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE saltwater fish. My goal is to catch one myself. They are rare in Hawaii though, you pretty much only see zebras, snowflakes and the regular moray. They are SUPER aggressive though. One of the divers I know was trying to catch a 3 footer (Which is huge for a dragon) and the thing bit him on the hand. He went to the hospital for stiches and went to try and catch it the next week. He ended up getting bit again so he got more stiches. The third try he just wrapped an old piece of wetsuit around his hand so when it bit him he just pulled it out and in to the bait bag. He sold it to his friend for $400! After all the hospital bills and at that size I would keep it and put it on display! Crazy!

Watch out for the teeth! Those things are ****ing huge and can really f you up. There expensive though so make sure tank conditions are just right and don't make it the first fish you add to a new aquarium. That would be one expensive test fish.

i would love to have one in my 135g.
but after seing my snowflake on the floor 3Xs i would hate to see that one on the floor.
and i know have a tight lid , and i did but they will find a hole.
