Really sorry to hear that, I know the damage even a 12” tiger shovelnose can do so really glad to hear you are still with us!
All the best for a speedy recovery and onto the next beast project fish.

Thats a deep gash. I wish you a speedy recovery.

I was always warned to be cautious of catfish "horns" when fishing, but never took it serious until a large blue cat opened up my wrist in a similar manner to yours. Now I completely avoid grabbing catfish at all if possible.

Holy hell man! Sorry for the loss of the animal but dang you’re lucky he didn’t rip through your wrist!
Hoping for a speedy recovery.
Good luck

sorry to hear that ?

This is a perfect example of why I think once you get to a certain point in fish keeping you should be wearing some type of protection or even armor when you mess around with a tank.

Damn man, I’m glad that we didn’t lose you, I’ve always enjoyed reading your posts comrade. I do truthfully hope that you get better soon comrade.

Thanks all, very sore still. Plenty of antibiotics and pain killers and I’m sure I’ll be fine.

Practical fish keeping have contacted me through social media for an interview to explain how dangerous these big fish can be.
I’m contacting the hospital for the xrays to show.

Apologies of I’m making no sense. I’m out of it on coodean tablets.
