Heater for a larger tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Haha well, while I have done plenty of wiring for vehicles and houses I'm not sure if I would want to build one of those. Is there a good one I can buy? I don't mind spending the money

I've run a Finnex digital temp controller for a year now. Has worked well and is relatively cheap. Think this particular one can handle up to 800 watts. 0106171454.jpg

I run two Finnex controlers like the one in the picture above. They allow up to 800 watts. If you use more than one heater you need to use a power strip. They have been running for about 1.5 years.

I run two heaters off the one Finnex using that white plug adapter that's toward the bottom of the picture. The only thing I wish was different with the Finnex is it would be nice if the temperature probe wire was a bit longer. I think it is 3'.

Thats a very similar unit. Most of the available units are not solid state. I will post a video of my build this coming week.

KingOf DIY/UrauJoey has a build for a unit rated to 1000watts using a stc-1000 that is essentially plug and play with multiple plugs built in. If memory serves me your trying to run 900watts of heat?
