HELP! DIY Background Problem

Alright guys, thanks for everybody's input. The tank is finally what I consider complete. Alot of trial and error along the way. I attempted live plants and mosses but my snapper made quick work of all of it. One benefit of a foam base behind the cement is that it allows easy decor mounting by just driving it into the background.

There were certain parts where the cement chipped off but that was due to the foam surface being too smooth. The areas that were really rough haven't had any bonding issues.

Here's the final result:

Man, that looks amazing. I was hoping to do something similar, but my Alli has simply demolished all the plants I've tried. Guess the name Tank is suiting. What type of plants are in there?

they're ferns from the local hobby store and a plastic plant called giant bamboo, looks like grass to me tho

Everything came out awesome man. You should be very happy with and proud of that tank. Great work. I like it a lot.

Great Stuff is a brand of expanding spray foam. You can find it at even small mom-and-pop hardware stores.

Quickrete is a brand of concrete. It comes in 80lb bags for less than $4.00usd. You mix it with water and viola! Concrete in a flash. (Thus the name)

This is a great build, I'm currently debating various build methods for my empty 150's background, this has to be up there for ease of use and end product.
