Hey guys! So we have a male & female flowerhorn separated by a screen, but I guess the last time my bf cleaned the tank & they were together (for only a moment!), that one kiss was all it took... Couple days later, we found the wall of our tank covered in eggs!! We've never intended to breed our flowerhorns, but I don't have the heart to not raise these adorable little miracles. Please any advise?!?!

1) We have an empty 10gal lying around I'm thinking of transferring the female & babies.. What's the best way to get the eggs off the tank glass safely, without harming them or the mom?

2) It's the female's first liter. I've don't only a bit of a research & some sources say to leave her to raise the babies naturally, others say she might eat them... What's the safest bet for successful hatching?

ANY tips, advice suggestions would be appreciated!! Tbh leave the eggs alone for the female to take care of them due to them being placed on the side of the aquarium. The female needs to learn how to become a good parent. Instinctively if the eggs are fertilized she will tend to them by removing any white unfertized eggs. Don't get upset if she eats them though because sometimes this happens from first spawns.

Just realized you joined today welcome aboard :)

Welcome to MFK!
Were the male and the female together at the time of the spawn? If they were not then the eggs may be infertile and wont hatch at all. If they are fertile try and find ideal foods for fry and do 30% water change a day. Good luck!
