idmyfish.jpggot this for free from the LFS owner, no idea what it is, would like to know though, he's about 6" - 7" inches long, and i'm pretty sure the "species name" i've given him, is far from reality, not much imagination needed here :naughty:

thanks in advance

sorry don't know why pic didn't upload the first time

looks close to that Nate Dogg, but a little off, his pelvic and anal fins are red, but the dorsal fin is not, he also has less of a "fish shaped" body, he's more or less completely cylindrical, like a cigar with his head being slightly larger in diameter.

I could be way wrong but it kind of looks like a tiamine

Looks like a cigar shark. they get HUGE. saw a 24"+ one at my lfs. they look like skinnier carps. and its definately not a pink tailed chalceus, they are south american and look like this

entirely different shape, head structure, mouth, fins and scale type.

thats a cigar shark, looks almost identical to yours

The problem with this fish is that it's in poor condition.

But yes it's a cigar shark in very poor condition!

don't think its a cigar shark head and scales are wrong I think (second take) leptobarbus hoevenii or golden ping tail shark it just looks very thin.
