no need to tamper with the shampoo, an airhorn and a bucket of cold water will do the trick
but if you must put something in the shampoo, try elmers glue and food coloring

watered down toothpaste would be my choice... itll sting when it hits the eyes and make his head super cold

lolBuy a bottle of 1 million scoville hot sauce. Mix it in but dont mix it so strong that he will smell it. It should burn just enough to make him sit in the shower for half an hour waiting for the pain to go away.
Koolaide/ hair dyes in high concentrations will do a little something to his hands as he scrubs his scalp but not the hair. However, that RID fabric dye might make him hate his life (and ruin your shower)
Menhaiden oil (fishing section) is really foul as is puppy potty training aid (i can't recall the trade name) from the petstore (think fermented dog urine left to stagnate and pudridifiy in the sun for several weeks). Honey or pancake syrup might not wash out that easily....
This could be exponentially more evil if he used your hair gel or product as anything in shampoo is gonna get diluted :/
You should definately take pictures if you go the dye route
