Help sexing my red devil (venting pics included)

Well i had a beautifull female lined up for him and the price was a little steep at $ 50 but i couldnt resist her and by the time i made it back to the lfs to pick her up the guy sold it out from under me :(. Well my GF think's the tank looks a little too bare with just him and i tried to tell her it isnt a good idea to mix them with other fish.But just to make apese her is there any other cichlid i could put in there with him it's a 75 gallon tank water quality and filtration are never a prob with me i relgiously do water cahnges every week ty in advance for any advice

If it has already laid claim to the 75 it may not be wise to introduce another large fish. a couple of same sex Convicts usually work well with larger tankmates. I would just make sure to provide different types of cover that only the Convicts can fit in for the times that the RD goes rogue. Honestly, this may not work either. It really depends on how your RD reacts.

Quality males, well good gened males, start forming koks(hump) at around 2-5 inches.........

Well he was only put into the tank like 3 days ago thats why i was thiking i might be able to put something in there. I was thinking maybe an oscar something that was cheap that way i wouldnt be out a ton of money if my devil killed it . But i wouldnt want anything that killed my devil they are my favorite fish

Oscars are not usually anywhere near the scale of aggression as RDs. I think it would be an instant loss of money. Even if you added an Oscar of the same size, there would still be fighting, maybe even more. Another thing is if the Oscar and RD managed to get along fine, a 75 will be too small for them. Unless you are planning on getting a larger tank, I would not get an Oscar or any other large growing fish to add to that tank.
