Hi fun bull shark

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i was going to say that looks like what we call a silver shark and i kinda hate places that sell them because no one ever tells the buyers that thay well need to be converted to brackish and then to a strat saltwater tank or thay will die. as for the other pic isent that a high fin baju i think im spelling it wrong lol
Silver fish is a Columbian Cat Shark and one that's darker with the high dorsal fin is a High Fin shark. And I know My lfs doesnt bealive me but what's interesting most of them die early at 4" with chunks of skin missing and meat I would start acclimating them earlier then you think.

Never heard them referred to with that name, but based on a quick google search, it looks like they are columbian shark cats, not chinese hi-fins.

Colombian Cat Shark
Needs 80g+ gets about 1.5 feet starts off in freshwater as a juvenile and later on NEEDS(if not he will develope extreme skin conditions that lead to a slow painful death, almost parallel to how voltamore in Harry Potter dies skin piece by skin piece slowly) to be acclimated to a brackish setup or a full saltwater tank. They can be fed shrimp, pellets, and filets.

So they are brackish the guy at the store claimed he had one for a few years and he would do fine in fresh water.. thanx for dealing with my horrible description and saving a poor catfishes life...

They start out in freshwater as young fish but they need to be acclimated to brackish soon. They can reach over 14" easily and are better off in full saltwater as adults. I had 3 at around 8" before they were killed in an accident.

Not the ones that bred right? Did you ever raise the fry successfully? I saw your thread but was to much to read after the first couple times they bred
