Hello monster fish keeper family? I’m new here and I gotta say I love the knowledge in this forum. So with that said, I was curious to know if anybody could point me in the direction of some pure bred Honduran red points? I just set up a nice 75 gallon community tank and I’d love to add some. Thanks!

Could look at their cousins Nanolutae as well.
Small like HRPs, do well with other fish just chasing away from fry, no active aggression otherwise.

Found a group on eBay, that’s about it right now. Seems to be an off time for them, most fish have seasons for when they are popular.
While we are mentioning convict relatives, rainbow cichlids are also beautiful and mild mannered.
My female in breeding dress while moving to fast to get a pic of:

it’s funny you mentioned the group on eBay, i actually bought a pair from a guy on there who had a nice bright green pair as his display pic, but when the fish got to to me, they were more on the side of “polar blue convict” hybrids, I told the guy these aren’t red points and he said he got them from Jeff rapps, which I don’t find to be true. Turns out he found a picture on the internet and photoshopped the colors to be brighter than they really were. Anyway, I’ll just wait for TUIC to get back in stock. Your fish are awesome by the way!

Whether Honduran Red Points are a legitimate separate species, or a location variant has yet to be determined (as far as I know).
Above is a male I had.
In breeding colors, the females resemble a comparatively blue Amatitlania species often called a convict.

Wow these are amazing, very colorful fish. It’s pretty cool how they can change colors during breeding time. Do you still keep them?
