How big do dojo loach get?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Dojos are cute, fun and playful. Like others have said here, they are peaceful and need to be in a community of peaceful fish. They also like company of their own kind, at least three to a group.

Some dojos eat snails, some don't. They will also eat Red Cherry Shrimp that fail to find appropriate hiding places.

In aquaria, dojos usually stay around 5 to 6 inches long. In a large tank, they can grow to 10 inches or a foot, and some in wild, open waters have been found to be 20 inches long.

It wouldn't be fair to the poor dojos to be kept with cichlids or other aggressive fish.

You need to keep them by themselves or with peaceful tankmates, only.
