2days is not enough it takes weeks. one way, buy a kiddie pool, lay wood in, put weight on top until it sinks. fill it up to the top. i like to drill and install a boat plug ($0.99) for quick draining.

X2. Also carbon in the filter if the piece is not too big, but I think you need to leach yours in something first from the size of it.
