I basically Want to know how to grade a BD. All I know so far is more spots more ca$$$h. The more raws of tiny spot near the edge of the dish the better. How bout low grade and high. I see people referral high quality BD as F1, F2. , please explain. Thanks

I will just say that the pricing of BD's, or any other ray, and what makes them more valuable is strictly opinion. Some sell females for more because they have a higher demand even when the importing price is the same. Others say the more spots the more money while another says eclipse spotting is more valuable. It is really a personal preference and what you are willing to pay. If I was buying a BD I would look for whiter spots and alot of them while you might like less spots. You call yours high quality and I call mine the same. No official grading scale I am aware of.

F1 and F2 are just generations. I have a F2 bengal cat. he is 2 generations removed

The price of the ray will best reflect it's quality :)
No vendor will sell you a insane quality bd for cheap lol

But almost all of them will sell you a cheap quality bd for an insane price.

That's like saying you bought a very good car because you payed more than the book value....lol

i dont grade any ray with a fancy name if i like the way it looks and the price is right i will buy if not i will walk away

the grading is crap who can say one ray is better than another apart from yourself

Well said...if your happy, that's all that matters.

I heard the best BD is the "thousand island". If you search YouTube, you will see some very impressive Thousand Island BD rays. They have large white spots and many of them. It will spoil your taste in rays once you see one of those.

Depends on your taste. To me Thousand Island looks like crap. I prefer bigger eclipse spotting donuts. Important is the parentage. Pure BD cost much more than just LeoxBD, though I must say sometimes u cant tell the diff. Like it and think you can afford it go ahead. As a hobbyist buy something we like. Unless you trying to sell it off later trying to earn a profit.
