How do you convert litres to gallons?

Hi would like to convert 440ltrs in to gallons, i think it is about 110g but im not 100% sure, any help would be great.

look on a gallon milk container (3.78L)

length x width x depth (in feet) x 6.25 = English imperial gallons

English imperial gallons x 4.54 = litres

Not much use if you arent British!
