Do the channels grow in length and then start packing on the girth, or do they sort of grow "up and out" at the same time? The three-footers I've seen are all so, well... round. Is this a sign of anything bad, or is that just the way they look as they mature?
Mine hit 27 inches before his untimely demise, but up until that time, he seemed to get longer faster than he did wide. He was relatively slender until he hit 2 feet.
Okay, then that explains why the smaller ones I see look nothing like the larger ones I've seen! The body shape almost makes them appear to be two different types of fish. Thanks!
in huge ponds/mini lakes they can grow 1-1 and a half pounds pergrowing season if they are feed pellets probably a lot different in aquariums i had 60 bullhead catfish in a 10g about 1in they were in there about 2 weeks and doubled size
