How much does a Black Arowana cost guys?

I went to a LFS and i asked the owner how much is a black arow...

He said 250$ and my jaws just dropped. Is that true? Because i have no freaking idea how much a black arowana costs.

you can usually find them for around a hundred on here sometimes. but its every now and again. you have to be quick too

yeah ive seen em at really high prices. a baby black goes for 100+ at some of my lfs.

in hawaii they cost 135- 150 if you can find one

I think the blacks are a better choice, they don't grow as large as a silver and they don't get drop eye. But yes they are pricy, I paid $200 for my 8" black and that was a great deal!

it depends on the size, my lfs store have baby black aro for $78 and they have a 12 incher for $399

Baby black Arowana's are seasonal, and the season is just ending. They usually become available around April for good prices, although of course there are risks with an egg-sack Arowana or others that are very small.

When you're talking 6"+, the price starts to skyrocket. $250 as a price seems high unless the Arowana is fairly large. $150-$180 seems to be the norm for stable, medium-sized specimens.
