how often will my goliath tigerfish eat?

He looks super skinny.... But your better off getting him live food ASAP- your risking the chance of him catching a parasite or some sort of illness, I got my 5" GATF off live food in just under a week and he's now around 9-10" it took him just 3 months to get to this size now from 5". I started with bite sized pieces of tilapia and he started pounding anything I threw in the tank it's a lot cheaper and easier than having to go pick up feeders every week. And I'm sure you have herd this before and you'll hear it again they need a at least 2000 gallon pond and that's still on the small side. I have a built in indoor hot tub in my basement that's 14,600 gallons that I plan on turning into a pond for my arapaiama VATF and my GATF when they need it! Good luck

Doesent look 7 inches but that's just me, mine are about 8 now and a lot larger girthwise, try fasting him for a few days and try cut up silversides, got mine off live in only 5 days after getting them, 2 gatf and a vatf. Straight to frozen with the occasional frenzy of minnows for a treat.

Beautiful fish! Since he is so thin looking I don't want to fast him. He went through a period of about a week when I first got him when he didnt eat anything... he's eating a LOT now, so once he gets some weight on him ill work on switching him over.
