How should I stack cinder blocks for a temporary stand??????

I have a 4x4 wooden frame for a 125. I plan on stacking up cinder blocks underneath it for a temporary stand. Do I want the two holes facing from bottom to top or from side to side. Which way will give me the most strength???
Also, will just for corners be ok, or do I also want to put a stack in the middle of the tank, front and back???
 
You want the flat side up and you want to support the entire rim of the tank.
 
Pounder808 has it. Any other way and they can crumble.

im affraid thats not true. i use blocks to block my boat up when its on land. and ive used blocks standing right up, especially for the bow many times.. so do many others.

i somehow see my 25ft, twin engine boat weighing slightly more than his tank ;)
 
I've used them to hold up cars, And standing on end, they always chip and crumble. Don't use them to hold up cars.
 
The old ghetto stand, just stack the corners like in that pic.

I would not stress the middle of the tank with blocks.

If the bottom of your tank isn't tempered glass then place
some 1" styrofoam under it.
 
theres a diference it may help to remember

most of what you find today are CEMENT blocks those, i most likely agree with not standing on end. REAL cinder blocks can handle the weight, and then some. however, their not easy to find anymore.
 
Thank's everybody, I forgot to ask if it needs leveled, which I know it will should I put the shims under the bottom block, or between the top block and the 4x4 frame, or both if needed, or does it make no difference, where they go. If my tanks ever need shims I put them under the stand.
