How soon after a water change do you feed your fish?

My water changes are usually early in the day to get them out of the way and I feed at night. My fish will definitely eat right after a wc

I usually feed them after the water change like once all the water settles maybe after 2-3 hrs I feed

I frequently feed messy food the night before a water change, like catfish, which is oily.

I then do a water change usually earlier in the day, and typically feed in the evening... if they got normal food the night before they get fed that evening. If they got live food or frozen fish they fast a day.

I drop a bit of food during a water change. They learn in time that water changes are a good thing...The only problem with that is...that if I subsequently stop doing it they tend to bunch around my hands making it impossible to siphon..Once they lose the fear of one's hands...fish can get very bold

catfish is oily? Uhm, catfish is classed as a delicate - a white meat, along w/ others like bass, cod, hake, burbot to name a few....... oily darks would be more like tuna, swordfish, bluefish, salmon etc. Your medium textures are fish like trout, bluegill, carp, and basically anthing that doesn't fit under a white or a dark, but somewhere in between
